Meet the Team
Monica Duerst, NP
Founder & Lead Clinician
Monica brings more than two decades of nursing experience. A Registered Nurse since 2002, she earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from USC in 2020 and expanded her expertise with an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care post-master's certificate from Boise State University in 2023.
She believes exceptional healthcare is built on shared decision-making, with patients serving as the leaders of their own care team. Outside of clinical practice, Monica enjoys outdoor sports, hiking, gardening, and cooking.
Kevin Duerst
Founder & Practice Manager
Kevin brings 23 years of distinguished service as a retired U.S. Army veteran. His vision for Northern Frontier Health was born from a desire to bring high-quality healthcare to individuals who face barriers due to distance and rural location.
He completed multiple tours in Iraq, Central America, and Afghanistan, including more than a decade as a Medivac crew chief. A true outdoorsman, Kevin enjoys off-roading, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
